We are looking for a Data Protection Officer (Q).

Data Protection Officer (DPO) will ensure the company is compliant with the PDPA, CCPA, and GDPR while promoting the commercial uses of data which improve the lives of citizens.

**Responsibilities**:

- Identify and evaluate the company’s data processing activities in multiple jurisdictions around the world
- Support new market entry strategies and compliance for mapping data and mobile location data collection and processing
- Provide advice and instructions on how to conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
- Monitor data management procedures and compliance within the company and commercial dealings
- Participate in meetings with managers to ensure privacy by design at all levels
- Maintain records of processing operations
- Liaise with other organisations that process data on behalf of the company
- Write and update detailed guides on data protection policies
- Perform audits and determine whether we need to alter the procedures to comply with regulations
- Offer consultation on how to deal with privacy breaches
- Arrange for training on compliance for employees
- Act as point of contact with EU residents, supervisory authorities and internal teams
- Follow up with changes in law and issue recommendations to ensure compliance
- Research and compliance activities around data products in the regions
- Working knowledge of GDPR/PDPA regulations and other regional data privacy laws and regulation
- Maintaining and enhancing the policies, procedures, communications and training related to the Data Protection Management strategies with the company’s data products
- Working with the business and operations teams and their management to exceed the expectations of our stakeholders, while maintaining trust in how the company handles personal data (embedding privacy by design and data protection impact assessments, supporting contracts negotiations and advisory.)
- Keeping the team updated on personal data protection developments and its impact to business and operations
- Handling requests from public or commercial clients on Data Protection Act/PDPA related queries
- Crisis management - managing incident response in the event of data breaches

**Requirements**:

- Experience in data protection and legal compliance preferably in the commercial sector or product driven environment
- Solid knowledge of PDPA, CCPA, GDPR and national data protection laws
- Work experience for mapping, GIS or mobile location data is a plus
- Knowledge of data processing operations in the company’s sector is preferable (APAC, US, EU)
- Familiarity with computer security systems
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Organizational skills with attention to detail
- Optimism and enthusiasm, emboldened by some experience (5 to 8 years of working experience, 3 years of PDPA experience) - to support a wide variety of evolving operations, running on established and nascent technologies, and employees who are powered by a strong sense of urgency and mission
- Evangelistic fervour about personal data protection, tempered by the importance of enhancing the competitiveness of the company’s offerings
- Ability to herd cats (in terms of project management)
- Ability to find the dots and join the dots (attention to detail, analytical skills)
- Ability to formulate policies with a consultative and collaborative approach

Good to have:

- CIPP qualification desirable but not a must
- Have experience in Data protection policies + knowledge of AWS security
