The Debit Cards & Digital Wallets Head is a senior management level position responsible for the development of product plans, strategies, and tactics for Global Wealth Management in Asia. The overall objective of this role is to drive Gross Dollar Volume, Fee Revenue and to deepen client relations via meaningful value propositions connected to the Debit Card and Tokenized Wallets products/features.
**Responsibilities**:
Debit Card Product
Drive and implement the debit card product strategy (across both value proposition and revenue opportunities) across GWM markets in Asia (coveting all segments from Citibanking to Citi Private Bank). Market & competition benchmarking to draw up the next phase of critical enhancements needed in each market.
Grow current gross dollar volume (Asia GWM) of $1.3B, $5MM interchange fee revenue and $2Bn of low-cost current account funding, by enhancing the value proposition of the product, building new payment flows and building meaningful partnerships.
Act as a champion and role model for innovation and change by developing a product roadmap and executing against this roadmap with technology and country teams to ensure Citi Debit cards take a world class position.
Ensure requisite prioritization and execution of in-flight workstreams including legacy markets. Continue to provide central oversight and support on all local and regional governance linked deliverables and initiatives as needed.
Develop an executable framework for driving usage and spend growth encompassing strategic and tactical initiatives across merchant categories, payment methods and key calendar events.
Manage Network relationships (MasterCard, Visa) across markets. Optimum utilization of funding received via Debit Development Fund ($7-10MM per year), Support Fund and Strategic Initiatives Fund.
Form a deep understanding of the merchant-based payment trends in the industry with a focus on the role of debit cards, customer behavior, latest technology, key players and disruptors.
Explore opportunities with Mastercard and Visa to develop and execute relevant, new payment capabilities as consumer behavior and technology trends change, such as the development of payments tokenization, card-to-card payments and digital wallets (Credit & Debit).
Partner with the Citi Global Wallet product proposition to a leading, best-in-class positioning in the region and be seen as the benchmark solution for clients, competitors and the industry.
Collaborate with other product/segments teams to introduce innovative new propositions that leverage multiple product capabilities to drive strategic initiatives to grow interest and fee revenue.
Strategic Partnerships
Lead and develop the pipeline and execution of strategic partnerships for banking products across the region with co-operations from different industries (Fintechs, Airlines, e-commerce partners etc.) to expand Citi’s reach and distribution.
Define optimal models and economic feasibility for partnerships across distribution, co-brands and private/white label arrangements as a key to growing the retail banking business and providing a pipeline for wealth management services.
Take a leading role working with country counterparts to cover the end-to-end cycle of partnerships including pitch, negotiation, partner management and ongoing support.
Form a deep understanding of partnership models and trends in the industry with a focus on the role of transactional banking (FX, deposits, and debit cards) to capture opportunities on customer behavior, latest technology, key players and disruptors.
**Qualifications**:
10+ years of relevant experience
Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, specialized analytics or related discipline
Broad and diverse function experience in marketing, acquisitions, product development and analytics
Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
Demonstrated analytical skills
Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
**Education**:
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Master’s degree preferred
