Motor & Personal Lines Operations team supports the General Insurance (GI) operations at Income. It plays a key role in our GI Consumer Business by supporting our stakeholders in the Underwriting, Policy Servicing and Claims Processing.
As a Claims Manager, you are responsible for the overall business culture and operation, guidance, and direction of claims operations staff. The incumbent is an experienced and well rounded 'œhands on'
- leader with a focus on driving operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
**Reports to**:
This position reports to the VP & Head, Operations, Motor & Personal Lines.
**Responsibilities**:
- Direct day to day operations of the claims section and ensure that claims are processed within company guidelines.
- Ensure legitimate claims are paid in accordance with policy conditions by providing technical expertise and leadership. Assess complex and technical claims in the assigned portfolio.
- Develop and maintain good client relationships with the insured, intermediaries, and service providers.
- Empower the claims team and support the department and ensure quality claims metrics and service level agreements are met.
- Collaborate with functional leadership from cross sections/departments to ensure efficiency and proper prioritization of the claims process.
- Proactively create, implement, and lead department digitalisation initiatives and business process improvement that produce successful results in the aforementioned areas.
- Enhance section level bench strength by hiring, coaching, and mentoring direct reports, providing career development and professional growth.
- Provide regular feedback, support Department and Functional Heads in reporting the operations Metrics/KPI, maintain and upkeep company policy and procedure adherence.

**Requirements**:
- University Degree holder or professional qualification in insurance or related disciplines
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive responsibility overseeing and developing claims operations including managing of third-party service providers preferably in Personal Lines setting.
- Excellent leadership, team player with good verbal and written communication skills to collaborate and influence outcomes.
- Strong organisational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal and time management skills
- Extensive experience with all Windows platforms, Microsoft Office, etc
- Receptive and adaptable to a dynamically changing and results-oriented environment.
