Production Reliability Engineer, Trading Team

We are looking for a Production Reliability Engineer to join one of our trading teams that trade a range of products globally. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of an established, highly successful, and growing team.

In this role, you will work to develop and utilize tools for a variety of exciting new projects currently being undertaken for a cross-functional successful trading team. You will be passionate about automation and be able to work closely with software developers and traders to solve difficult technical problems with scalable and maintainable solutions in a fast-paced and energetic environment. You'll also be able to contribute to many areas of product development, being exposed to interesting challenges and partnering in the development and deployment of cutting edge technology.

**What You'll Do**:

- Participate in the development of effective automation processes, creating a best in practice workflow to improve system reliability and developer velocity
- Work on best-in-class systems, with a big appetite for evolution
- Be an integral member of the team, communicating with both traders and developers to facilitate efficient and effective implementation of feature requests
- Work in a high inertia environment, frequently context switching to ensure the team's trading infrastructure is running optimally
- Help develop and innovate the team's CI/CD pipeline, including build and test orchestration
- Monitor and triage production issues, improving the team's ability to detect and mitigate such issues
- Research, implement, and operate new software and technologies as applicable to Jump's trading and research infrastructure
- Continue to maintain a suite of configuration and query scripts using Splunk, SQL, and custom data frameworks
- Manage operational and project work on the team's technology roadmap using Kanban boards and GitHub Issues
- Other duties as assigned

**Skills You'll Need**:

- Prior experience in a DevOps, PRE, or SRE position where you've had experience taking strong ownership of an operational and development lifecycle
- Strong experience in Python
- Familiarity with the use of Jenkins, Git
- Proficient experience utilising Linux/Bash
- Passionate about solving problems from technology and automation
- Excellent communicator, problem solver, and strong team player
- Ability to be well-organised but flexible, willing to change priorities as dictated by exogenous events
- Prior experience working with automated trading systems is a bonus
- Reliable and predictable availability
