**Job Summary**
- We are looking for a Global Head, Data and Analytics Platforms, responsible for enterprise data architecture, the new global data platform, consolidating the many data analytics toolsets, and the new central ESG data platform
- The Global Head, Data and Analytics Platforms:

- owns the strategy on data platforms & architecture and the operating model that supports it;
- keeps a team of competent and professional engineers responsible for the design and development of the data ecosystem;
- is an engineer at heart, who can perform in-depth reviews of code and designs;
- has a strong opinion on how a global data infrastructure should operate;
- believes in keeping the best engineers engaged and driven to deliver new and exciting services;
- inspires the team with new thinking and challenging tasks.
- The Global Head, Data and Analytics Platforms understands that data is sensitive, has gravity and is costly - and that considered strategies and simple solutions work best. Critically, they continuously translate the data needs of business in a manner that is readily understandable to stakeholders based on their perception of the business world. These needs are also expressed and shaped to meet governance and compliance frameworks of the Bank and its regulatory community.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Strategy**
- Advocate and champion the data strategy of the Bank
- Be the primary interface with suppliers always looking for value the Bank can leverage
- Keep the strategy aligned to global trends that offer the Bank clear benefits
- Engage external community to drive strategic value and innovation for the Bank
- Use the corporate funding processes, the annual opex budgets, key contracts, and any other funding mechanisms to find efficiencies for the Bank
- Partner with internal teams to empathise with challenges and drive tangible opportunities for the data platforms of the Bank

**Business**
- Anticipates what clients want and delights them with continued value and service assurance knowing, more than anything, data platforms must be continuously available and secure
- Invest heavily in the education of staff to the value the data platforms bring to the Bank
- Keep the data platforms and data pipelines operating to agreed service levels
- Respond in a timely manner to incidents to recover services asap
- Support the business in driving RoTE, faster time to market, and other commercial ambitions
- Unlock innovations (technical or otherwise) to delight our business partners
- Forge trusted partnerships with internal control and governance teams to drive confidence in the data platforms

**Processes**
- Work with T&O Governance to issue appropriate policies, procedures, and quality checks for operating and servicing data platform consumers across the Bank
- Have awareness of and understand the relevant regulation for the markets in which the Bank operates such as sovereignty, privacy, lineage, and resilience.
- Ensure compliance with Standard Chartered governance frameworks and challenge them where appropriate.
- Be relentless in driving process improvements left of the SDLC process not right of it
- Keep program management teams in-tune with statuses and risks during change delivery

- Balances business performance delivery and cost management constraints with risk and control matters to ensure that they do not materially threaten the Group’s ability to remain within risk appetite
- Includes all necessary internal, legal and regulatory controls through the development and operations of the data platforms
- Ensure a full understanding and ownership of the risk and control environment within the data platforms of the Bank
