**Job Description Summary**:
The Product Quality Engineer supports the cell in aspects of quality assurance/control and is responsible for the quality planning and conformance of Product Quality to Customer and Engineering requirements. This role reports directly to the Quality Manager.

Essential Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

- Drive Quality Culture improvement (change agent)
- Plan for product quality verification at appropriate process stages, ensuring Critical-to-Quality (CtQ) characteristics are achieved
- Ensure integrity of measurement systems (inc. GR&R) for product verification
- Facilitate Management of Change (MOC) for product full/partial qualification
- Train quality control inspectors on proper use of measuring and testing equipment and visual inspection for product verification
- Independent reviewer for Cell operators/inspectors OJT competency
- Review product non-conformances through Perfection Review (PR), NCR and SAP Q-Note
- Drive internal Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and effective Corrective and Preventive actions
- Conduct assigned process and product audits
- Facilitate Quality Improvement Projects (QIP) to meet quarterly savings target
- Drive initiatives to increase product/process yield and reduce Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) - Scrap, rework, warranty costs
- Support cell in implementation and adherence of Quality Management Systems requirements
- Raise quality awareness, conduct quality briefs, monitor and exercise StopWork for quality issues
- Review and approve incoming and final repair reports, as needed

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Engineering Degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering
- 3 years operational, quality and engineering experience in related industry preferred
- Strong communications, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Gas Turbine, Rotor or other component repairs experience will be an added advantage

Desired Characteristics:

- Understanding of ISO9001:2015 Quality Management Systems
- Good analytical skills & experience in performing Root Cause Analysis
- Good report writing skills and experience in facilitating audits
- Meticulous and data driven in reviewing and making dispositions
- Good understanding of measurement systems and metrology
