Care Corner Singapore Ltd was founded in 1981, in a climate of changes in the early 1980s, as economic competition in the region intensified and the rift between the wealthy and the lower-income in particular the Chinese blue-collar workers, widened. Rev Tan Tien Ser and a group of passionate individuals believed that these marginalised people with lower income and little opportunities for a formal education could be helped to realise their potential and become more competent and fulfilled persons. Through a series of early outreach initiatives, Care Corner has evolved into an organisation offering a wide range of programmes and services delivered through various social service centres located island-wide. In a bid to stay relevant to the needs of the community, Care Corner has continuously strived to offer new and innovative programmes to support those in need and the less privileged.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Our counsellors will adopt a regional and multi-disciplinary approach to deliver a continuum of support services for stressed and early-risk families. We aim to alleviate conflicts, stress and strengthen functioning within families, with the long-term goal for families to achieve healthy family functioning and to reduce downstream issues such as poor child outcomes, health and safety issues.
- Conduct counselling for individuals, couples and families who are experiencing stress due to family-related issues, including marriage, divorce, parent-child relationships or issues among siblings or extended family
- Provide support group therapy for parents and children
- Facilitate co-parenting programme and workshop to help equip parents with knowledge of positive parent-child relationship and build strategies in managing their co-parenting through counselling and coaching of parenting issues

**Requirements**:

- 2-3 years of relevant counselling experience in education, counselling, social work, or related work involving family, parents and children, and have experience in conducting training and workshop
- Passion for parenting work to strengthen family life

QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess a SAC recognized Post-Graduate Diploma or Master Degree in Counselling; or
- Degree/Masters in Counselling Psychology / Applied Psychology (Counselling); or
- Bachelor Degree in related fields (Social Work) with a recognized certification in Counselling
