Company Accountant - Construction Company Job Description
Job Title: Company Accountant
**Responsibilities**:
- Accounts Payable (A/P): Process and verify invoices, ensure timely payments to vendors, maintain accurate vendor records.
- Accounts Receivable (A/R): Track outstanding invoices, follow up on overdue payments, maintain accurate customer records, and prepare aging reports.
- General Ledger: Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. This includes journal entries, account reconciliations, and chart of accounts maintenance.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for management review. Analyze financial data and identify trends.
- Month-End/Year-End Close: Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Fixed Assets: Maintain fixed asset records, including depreciation calculations and tracking.
- Payroll: May assist with payroll processing, depending on company structure.
- Cost Accounting: Experience with cost accounting principles and practices in the construction industry is highly desirable. This could include job costing, tracking project budgets and expenses, and variance analysis.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting regulations and internal controls.
- Audits: Assist with internal and external audits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
3 years of experience in an accounting or administrative role, preferably in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software ANY
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
