As a Senior Principal Scientist - Global Process Development you will be specializing in upstream or downstream science. Provides scientific and technical solutions to complex project challenges across the Lonza mammalian network. Collaborates with global teams and customers to drive innovation and process improvements. Passionate about science and knowledge sharing, with a broad expertise in bioprocess development.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Provide strong scientific support for the development and manufacturing of therapeutic proteins using mammalian cell culture, with expertise in upstream (USP) or downstream (DSP) activities.
- Support pre-clinical and clinical process development, process transfer into cGMP, and execution of manufacturing processes.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams to resolve technical, scientific, and IP-related issues using structured, data-driven approaches (e.g., RCA, risk assessments, DoE, FMEA, multivariate analysis). Ensure timely and well-documented investigation reports.
- Mentor and develop scientists within the Process Development team to enhance technical and analytical capabilities.
- Collaborate with R&D and operations to integrate innovative approaches and emerging technologies that improve Lonza’s operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain high scientific and quality standards for both customer and in-house projects, supporting regulatory inspections and interactions as needed.
- Monitor emerging trends in science, technology, and intellectual property (IP) that may impact Lonza’s business strategy and competitive positioning.
- Act as a scientific ambassador for Lonza, presenting at conferences, engaging with customers, and promoting Lonza’s capabilities externally.
- Effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to customers, internal stakeholders, and peers through presentations, reports, and discussions.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support business objectives and team success.

**Key Requirements**:

- A relevant Science degree such as a Bachelor in Biological Sciences / Chemical Engineering / Molecular Biology etc
- Able to articulate well and communicate abstract concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Hands on knowledge of operational activities across multiple technical functions
- Experience in leading, delivering, and tracking projects across different regions
