What the Role Entails

About the Role:
Seeking dynamic and experienced Corporate Communications Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in driving our global communications strategy for Tencent Cloud and Smart Industries Group (CSIG) and Tencent Cloud International (TCI). You will be responsible for strengthening our business narrative, protecting our brand, and promoting consistent, engaging messaging across international markets. This position requires a professional with a global perspective, bilingual fluency, and experience in corporate communications within an international environment.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Corporate Messaging & Thought Leadership

a. Develop and execute corporate messaging that strengthens CSIG/TCI’s brand narrative globally, ensuring alignment with local market perspectives.

b. Collaborate with internal teams to elevate executive speeches, media engagements, and thought leadership materials.

2. Crisis & Incident Management

a. Assess and respond to media queries, incidents, and potential crises, especially regarding sensitive topics.

b. Craft and implement mitigation and communication strategies that minimize negative impact on public perception.

3. Media Relations & High-Impact Engagement

a. Establish and maintain relationships with international media to drive high-impact engagements.

b. Act as a gatekeeper for global press announcements and manage the positioning of new technologies and products.

4. Cross-Functional & Cross-Business Group Synergies

a. Identify corporate and cross-business group opportunities to position Tencent Cloud as part of the broader Tencent ecosystem.

b. Work closely with the global marketing and corporate teams to ensure content consistency across social media and other digital platforms.

5. Harmonizing Global and Local Narratives

a. Able to partner with global teams to align core messaging, ensuring coherent and friendly communication across domestic and international markets.

b. Adapt and localize messaging in English (or other local languages as needed) to suit diverse audiences and cultural contexts.

6. Event Support & Ecosystem Representation

a. Support CSIG/TCI’s presence at key international events

b. Represent and advocate for Tencent Cloud within industry ecosystems to enhance brand visibility and positioning.

Who We Look For

Qualifications:

- Experience: 5+ years in corporate communications, PR, or a related field, with experience in a global or multi-regional context.
- Bilingual Proficiency: Fluent in English and Mandarin, to cooperate with international stakeholders and stakeholders who are based in HQ.
- Global Perspective: Proven experience in managing communications strategies that span multiple countries and cultural contexts.
- Crisis Management Skills: Ability to evaluate, respond, and manage communications around incidents, crises, or sensitive topics.
- Strategic Storytelling: Strong ability to craft and deliver messaging that resonates with both local and international audiences, reflecting brand integrity and objectives.
- Event Experience: Experience supporting or managing communications for high-profile industry events is a plus.

Key Competencies:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and nuance in messaging.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and navigate complex organizational structures.
- Strong media relations skills and the ability to establish and maintain key partnerships.
- Analytical mindset to assess incident impact and devise effective communication strategies.
- Familiarity with the tech industry, particularly cloud services, digital ecosystems, and emerging technologies, is highly desirable.
