**Job description**:
The research officer will gain experience in and support efforts to:
- Develop and characterize fat precursor cell lines
- Establish mínimal, biomaterial-based 3D cellular microenvironment for maximal cell survival and fat differentiation
- Investigate scalable cell culture methods and perform pilot scale-up studies from flask to bioreactor scale
- Establish lab-scale alternative protein prototypes to investigate fat cell stability
- Engage in collaborative experiments with other labs
- Maintain detailed experimental records and compile experimental summaries
- Maintain laboratory inventory and equipment, and participate in institute-level laboratory administrative roles e.g. safety committee
**Job requirements**:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in biomedical/biological/biochemical/materials engineering, life sciences or relevant disciplines. Fresh graduates with relevant research experience are welcome to apply.
- Prior experience (> 1 year) in mammalian cell culture is required.
- Familiarity with cell biology, microscopy, organic chemistry, or bioprocess development will be advantageous.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication are required.Tags
