Operations Manager

Our client is an established NVOCC, looking for a dynamic Operations Manager to join the team. Central Location
**Responsibilities**:
- Lead the Ocean Freight Import & Export team in day-to-day operation, manage the performance of the team, make necessary adjustments, rotations, re-assignment according to business needs.
- Procure competitive Ocean Freight rates, monitor, review market rates, make necessary adjustments / negotiations with Carriers / Consolidators on a regular basis.
- Establish strong relationships with Carriers, hauliers to support local, regional and global strategy.
- Review services provided to clients, take necessary action to ensure reliability of the services.
- Ensure Service excellence, work on service enhancements and process improvement on freight service to enhance overall customers’ satisfaction.
- Work on both local and overseas opportunities and/or RFQs.
- Provide monthly management reports.
- Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team to provide solutions.
- Developing and implementing commercial strategies in line with company goals and objectives, with the aim of accelerating growth.
**Requirements**:
- Tertiary Education in Supply Chain.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Shipping industry.
- Ocean freight import and export knowledge is essential.
- A team leading and self-motivated individual.
- A confident personality with strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to engage with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Detailed and meticulous.
