Roles & Responsibilities

Our client is looking for a Shipbroker to join the Specialty/Chemical Tanker desk at our Singapore office.

As a Ship Broker, you will act as a professional intermediary facilitating negotiations between shipowners and charterers to arrange the transport of liquid bulk commodities by sea on board tanker vessels.

- Be part of a dynamic and driven team of ship brokers
- Provide insights, professional advice and market intelligence to and negotiate charter parties & contracts with ship owners and charterers
- Work closely with the team to maintain and develop productive business relationships and engage with existing and potential customers
- Expand and develop contacts with ship owners and charterers in the region as well as globally
- Closely monitor market developments and acquire market intelligence, data and information
- Continuously develop own skills and knowledge and that of your team members so as to deliver consistently high service quality standards

**Requirements**:

- Minumum Diploma or Degree in Maritime Studies
- Minimum 2 years prior work experience in ship broking, chartering or commercial operations (preferably in the chemical tanker space)
- Able and willing to work after office hours and irregular hours as necessary
- Able to work well under pressure and think on your feet
- Be willing to put in a lot of effort in developing and maintaining client relationships and responding promptly to their queries and requirements
- Able to always remain professional and ethical in all business dealings despite any adversities or pressure situations
- Be a team player always willing to work in the best interests of the team and company
