Our client is a boutique ship broking business operating in the tanker market. They are looking to hire a new Ship Broker to join them in Singapore.
**Job Description**:
1. Chartering Broker focused on the chemical tanker / palm / veg / edible oil market
2. Working with some existing clients to arrange their shipping
3. Developing new business and bring in some new clients
4. Negotiating charterparties and terms of fixture
5. Following up and coordinating with operations to ensure successful voyage
Requirement:
We are looking for one of 3 profiles...
1. Experienced Ship Broker active in the tanker market
2. Tanker professional with a few years experience in Operations, Research etc and ready to make the move to the front line
3. Maritime sales professional who wants to work in real commercial shipping
Language skills will be highly valued as this is an international business dealing with clients from around the world. Mandarin, Greek, Dutch, Turkish or Scandinavian languages would be particularly useful as you may be introduced to clients with these first languages.
Ship broking offers excellent financial rewards as the job pays a base salary plus a % of all the business you fix. You will become a respected person in the industry and a trusted partner to your clients.
Do note that this is a sales role so you should be comfortable picking up the phone and making things happen. There will be midweek client entertainment (drinks, dinner etc) from time to time.
