POSITION PURPOSE
- The APAC Distribution Business Unit is an important part of T, Rowe Price’s global diversification aspirations and is undergoing a rapid period of investment and growth.
- This 6-month contract role supports the execution of the APAC Distribution strategy. It sits within the Business Management team and reports to the General Manager for APAC Distribution.
- The Business Manager will support the execution of key strategic projects, either generated within APAC Distribution or by other functions where they have a direct impact on the APAC Distribution business.
- As such, you will need to be familiar with managing Change and Project Management frameworks and form strong relationships with stakeholders across and outside of the APAC region.
Principal Responsibilities
Business Strategy and Management Support - Support General Manager and Lead Business Manager, to define, communicate and execute regional distribution objectives.
- Conduct research and analysis to support development of regional, market and channel growth strategies.
- Provides strategic support and contributions to the annual planning processes, workforce plans and technology prioritization to support business needs / strategic plans.
- Develop and report business KPIs to inform planning and decision making.
Prepares regular updates, presentations, and reviews for internal and external stakeholders
- E.g., Town halls, APAC Distribution Lead Team, Leadership Forum, Management Committee, Board Papers etc.
- Perform analysis on data to derive conclusions and influence decision making.
- Synthetize key topics into short and easy to read presentation decks.
Governance, Routines oversight and execution - Provides Support to the APAC General Manager by supporting and facilitating the execution of the full range of routines across APAC Distribution.
- Provides logístical support for key leadership meetings, including agenda setting, minute taking and activity tracking.
- Takes accountability to improve maturity of business capabilities owned by business management.
- Supports the regional investment professional coordination process ensuring clear accountability for supporting senior leadership and investment professional travel to APAC.
Builds Consultative Partnerships - Partners with key stakeholders to improve existing processes, data flows based on changing business needs.
- Builds relationships with Sales Associates, Sales Management, Marketing, and our shared service partners including but not limited to Product Management, Client Account Services, Legal, Compliance, Technology and Risk.
- Develops solutions with partners to address complex business problems, ensures timely and effective issue resolution.
- Works to review, analyze and mitigate key operational risks within the business unit. Responsible for implementing, tracking, and reporting improvements.
- Leads development, education and execution of key sales policies and processes to facilitate the effective distribution of our products accounting for regulatory and compliance requirements.
BU Program/Project Management and Support - Leads/supports projects and participates on various departmental and firm-wide project teams and initiatives.
- Provides planning and project management support to key distribution and cross functional initiatives, including but not limited to project scoping and feasibility.
- Works with stakeholders to remove barriers to successful project execution, holds project teams accountable.
- Serves as an active participant on various departmental and firm-wide project teams and initiatives to ensure successful execution of these activities, representing the collective voice of APAC Distribution.
Internal Comms and Associate Training - Coordinates internal comms and associate skills training.
- Supports internal communication strategy, including associate communications, pulse surveys, forums, and town halls.
- Collaborates with Associate Training, MyLearning team, Investment Product Communications and external consultants on dedicated skills training, thematic (e.g., ESG) and product training plans for distribution associates.
- Works closely with team members on creating, maintaining, and training on internal processes and policies related to the Distribution business, including maintenance of the teams SharePoint site.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES / SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree or higher.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and preference Mandarin.
- Minimum of 5+ years Business Management / Management Consultant / Asset Management Sales or experience.
