The operations organization aims to be a sales enabler
- our performance will help Piab fulfil our full potential as the global leader in gripping and moving solutions. Procurement is a key driver in this, driving world class performance in quality, delivery, and cost throughout the supplier base. As a sourcing manager at Piab you will take on global sourcing category responsibility, regional supplier responsibility and take an active part in driving improvements of processes and sourcing methods in general. This role will take extra responsibility for our supplier base in Asia.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement category strategies for assigned sourcing categories.
- Take responsibility for our regional supplier base located in APAC.
- Support implementation of category strategies through regional sourcing initiatives.
- Supplier search and qualification of new suppliers, globally but mainly in the APAC region.
- Proactively evaluate, develop and quality assure the supplier base.
- Negotiate prices, terms and conditions and set up agreements with key suppliers to establish best-in-class pricing, flexibility, quality, delivery, payment terms etc.
- Run cost down projects of existing product range together with R&D to reach improved product margins and profitability.
- Drive and monitor compliance activities in the supplier base.
- Participate in new product introduction and product maintenance projects with supplier selection, prototyping, samples and parts qualification.
- Drive process improvement and implement tools and methods within the sourcing team well as cross functional.

- Maintain contract and supplier data in ERP.

KEY INTERFACES

Piab is a global company and many of the suppliers as well as the internal contacts are located in Europe, Americas and Asia. You will join and work close with a currently growing procurement team of currently seven individuals. In this position you will work close with the current operations team in Singapore and with other key functions in the global organization such as sourcing colleagues, operations teams, R&D teams, product owners and project leaders.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Fluency English, oral and written
- Structured with good problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to multi-task and drive initiatives independently
- Strong negotiation skills
- Relationship building
- Analytical with ability to collect, analyse and present data to support decisions and strategies
- Interested and relevant knowledge of different manufacturing technologies
- Language: English fluently, Chinese is a big merit.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
- Higher degree in Engineering and/or Supply Chain Management
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience with strategic sourcing in a producing/industrial company (direct spend)
- Experience from category management, sourcing management, project sourcing management.
- Experience in supplier search and qualification and development of new suppliers.
- Experience from driving early supplier involvement (ESI) initiatives and cost down projects together with R&D.
- Documented training in purchasing/sourcing is an advantage.
- Experience and practical knowledge working with supplier quality assurance, for example as SQA or SQE is a merit.
