The Singapore System Design team has a direct impact on commuter experience with improvements such as shorter intervals between trains, less service disruptions, and faster travel times thanks to our driverless Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) systems. In particular, the team is leading the development and use of cloud-based solutions to leverage the abundance of data generated during day-to-day passenger operation for railways in every continent.

What You’ll Do:

- Develop and define system and subsystem design features to meet Customer requirements (operational and safety requirements in particular)
- Analyze and evaluate designs to verify compliance with System technical requirements
- Participate in system performance monitoring and root cause analysis of issues faced in passenger metro operation or during testing using could-based data analysis tools
- Present trade-off analysis, designs and investigations to engineering/management groups in clear, complete, concise and non-ambiguous terms
- Advise software engineers on the development of new use cases for the data analytics tools
- Work in our world class CBTC simulation facility to support testing, configuration and verification
- Participate in system design document updates and reviews, and Customer technical meetings as needed
- Support bids and projects in Singapore and in the region including but not limited to Malaysia, Hong Kong and Australia

Who You Are:

- BASc in Electrical, Computer, System Design Engineering or equivalent
- Curious and willing to learn technical skills fast and on the fly
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Have strong communication skills to interface with customers and Thales personnel around the globe
- Willingness to collaborate with teams overseas, which requires occasional evening calls
- Good To Have:

- Experience with scripting languages like Python, Perl, Ruby
- Previous exposure to some of the technologies we use
