The Office of Health and Safety seeks to create and provide a safe and healthy environment for all faculty, staff and students, as well as our stakeholders, among whom are our valued collaborators, visitors, tenants and contractors. It works closely with the University community to implement the best practices of safety management, in line with the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act and applicable legal legislations, University’s safety regulations and standard operating procedures to eradicate or minimize health and safety risks and hazards on campus.

The University is now looking for a Director, Office of Health and Safety, who has the passion, commitment and with the required expertise, to lead and drive the Office of Health and Safety’s mission and agenda.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President (Administration), the Director, Office of Health and Safety is responsible for spearheading and establishing the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) framework for the University to ensure a safe work and living environment for the NTU community.

The incumbent is also involved in strategizing and conceptualizing policies and procedures on health and safety and has oversight of security matters, to minimize the negative impact on lives, welfare, and reputation of the University.

Key to the role is also the promotion of a culture of digitalization and usage of advanced analytical models and tools to interpret big data and leverage results to accelerate innovation, synergies and transformation in business processes and enhancement of stakeholders’ experience.

**Requirements**:

- Postgraduate degree in Engineering, Science or any other relevant disciplines.
- A Registered Workplace Health & Safety Officer (WHSO) and Auditor (WHSA) with MOM as well as Fire Safety Manager (FSM) with SCDF, is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in management of Safety & Health and Environment
- Sound and updated knowledge of various Workplace Safety & Health, Environment legislation and Regulatory requirements and Singapore Statutes (Penal Code, Road Traffic Act, etc.)
- Track records in Safety Risk Management and Safety Management System implementation
- Understanding of complexities of a university’s operations, appreciation of the challenges of proposing/implementing various policies and programs in a uniquely diverse and knowledge-based research environment
- Ability to be adept at strategizing and conceptualizing policies and programs on health, safety and environment based on best practices
- Strong communication, negotiation, influencing and change management skills
