Roles and responsibilities
- Reviews and implements guidelines and rules, coding them in the compliance system for Funds and client accounts, in a timely manner
- Reviews and interprets client rules, guidelines, and regulations to determine how a rule should be coded in the compliance system.
- Implements internal guidelines and controls for the American Funds and other CRMC-managed funds
- Implements internal rules as requested by Principal Investment Officers.
- Codes rules as part of broad, more complex, projects. Reviews and implements client guidelines for Equity and/or Fixed Income Funds / client accounts, liaising with Legal and the Marketing group by drafting, reviewing, and interpreting the rules, guidelines, and regulations for client accounts.
- Works with Principal Investment Officers to understand the objective of each mandate and determine standard ideal guidelines for each mandate.
- Participates in guideline negotiations. Provides leadership/direction to the team.
- May perform quality checks and verify the accuracy of work prepared by other associates.
- Helps assess and identify training needs. Recommends future enhancements to training plans and adapts as needed.
- Through good judgment and decision making, helps manage the workflow to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Facilitates and/or chairs internal meetings. Serves as a positive role model and mentor for other associates. May lead or participate in projects and team/department initiatives.
- Establishes project plans, ensures impacts are addressed, and provides regular updates to managers and stakeholders
- Leads the development and enhancement of policies, procedures, and controls. Works with Legal on the appropriateness of certain security offerings and complex transactions for client accounts.
- Serves as a point of contact for multiple departments on client/investment queries related to portfolio compliance.
- Participates in the training of other associates. Provides feedback to manager regarding associate performance and development needs.
- Leads Fund-related tasks and initiatives, including prospectus changes and new Fund launches.
- Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.

- Demonstrates the ability to code complex rules in our compliance system, properly utilizing established rule coding conventions.
- Demonstrates the ability to understand the needs of our clients and how to handle requests with CG's investment philosophy in mind. Demonstrates the ability to query and extract data from various CG systems for analysis purposes.
