**Key Responsibilities**
- Primary scope of work is support research and industrial project work undertaken by the SPICE or RaPID department.
- Carry out Risk Assessment of projects and labs, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations
- Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers.
- Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure that the project can meet the milestones adhering to the stipulated timeline
- Mentor students during practical learning activities to enhance their technical problem-solving skills. The learning activities are mainly laboratory classes.
- Any other duties assigned.

**Job Requirements**
- A good degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Masters, PhD and/or relevant professional certifications like registered PE would be advantageous.
- Have at least 3-6 years of working experience in mechanical design, systems design or related area in mechatronics would be preferred.
- Experience in following areas are highly desirable:

- Mechanical systems development and integration
- Material and components selection including working knowledge with integration and selection of components/systems such as actuators, pumps, hydraulics system
- CAD software such as SolidWorks, Rhino 3D and PTC Creo
- Prototyping and fabrication. Simulation of mechanical design will be an added advantage.
- Material testing and material properties knowledge will be advantageous
- Working knowledge of control and PLC systems will be advantageous
- Experience with software such as Ansys and Abaqus will be advantageous
- Extensive experience and knowledge of industry practices to bring industry perspective to SIT.
- Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems.
- Good supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment.
- Possess industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage.
