Singapore RWE SUPPLY & TRADING ASIA-PACIFIC PTE. LTD. Full time

The role is based in a desk that acts as an Operator in the market and is one of the largest players in the freight derivatives market. Responsibilities shall include managing a physical freight portfolio in conjunction with Singapore and Swindon colleagues, building external relationships, searching for further freight opportunities in Asia.

With the support of the existing trading team this person will be responsible for chartering activities in Singapore.
- Analysing the Freight market in Asia and sharing findings and recommendations with the Singapore and Swindon team to formulate future commercial plans and strategies
- Working with the freight traders and ensuring they have accurate and timely information on current physical freight events / issues
- Checking and reporting positions
- Pricing physical voyage freight for internal and external counterparties Evaluating physical vessels
- Negotiating and chartering physical freight contracts
- Liaise with and advise Logistics Team on operational and logistics issues
- Liaise with other groups in particular Risk Control, Compliance & Credit, Back Office

**Your powerful skills**:

- At least 3 years’ experience within a shipping environment
- Self-motivated and driven to add value into a strong performing team
- Strong team player with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues across the wider business and in other locations
- Good attention to detail
- Strong numerical, IT & problem solving skills Adaptable and able to work within strict deadlines
- Able to build strong relationships with internal departments and external counterparties

**Advantageous, but not a must**:

- Established networks in the Asian market, especially Capesize Technical skills to perform the role effectively
- Physical chartering experience
- Experience in a physical freight related activities
- Experience of operating / handling dry bulk commodities such as coal is advantageous. Third party freight relationships
