Section Manager, EMF
**Job Purpose**
- To drive maintenance and operational engineering outcome for electrical, mechanical and fire protection system (henceforth known as “EMF Systems”) in the SMRT network.
- To deliver high systems availability and reliability. The work scope spans across maintenance management, reliability engineering, technical document development and, and contract management.
- To lead a team of 30 to 40 staff (maintenance managers, engineers, assistant engineers, and technical officers) to achieve the job scopes described.
- To liaise with SMRT Train agencies, Land Transport Authority (LTA) and SMRT contractors to achieve the job scopes described.
**Responsibilities**
- Manages and coordinates maintenance activities to ensure EMF Systems in the SMRT networks are operational, serviced, and ready to meet daily service requirements.
- Responsible for the preparation of budget for operational and capex expenditure for the EMF system.
- Implements the maintenance strategy and regime for the upkeep of EMF Systems in the SMRT network.
- Implements control measures in line with established local building codes and regulations, in house quality manual and work instructions. Develops and monitors systems of checks for compliance to maintenance procedures and safety rules.
- Monitors maintenance of assets maintained by external contractors. Ensures that quality and safety are integrated into all aspects of subordinate responsibilities.
- Responsible for reviewing, implementing, and updating Working Instructions and Emergency Operations Procedures relating to a variety of emergency situations.
- Conduct audits and implement program for the assessment of EMF assets in SMRT
- Lead an Investigation Team for peculiar defects and major disruptions.
- Other duties arising from business needs or as assigned.
**Qualifications & Work Experience**
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Sciences or relevant discipline.
- Preferred to have at least 5 years of supervisory experience or relevant working experience in operation, repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical systems and fire protection system.
- Familiar with local codes with regards to building management and SCDF fire codes
- Working experience on Modular/Screw type of chillers, VRV AC system or Building Management System is preferred.
**Skills**
- Able to work independently.
- Able to lead by example.
- Possess strong interpersonal & communication skills.
- Able to communicate effectively and ability to work in and as a team.
- Able to manage and handle multiple contracts.
**SMRT Trains Ltd **was incorporated in 1987 and operates Singapore’s first mass rapid transit system. Today, we manage and operate train services on the North-South Line, East-West Line, the Circle Line, the Thomson-East Coast Line, and the Bukit Panjang Light Rail Transit. With over 5,000 employees, more than 250 trains, and 141 km of rail tracks across 108 stations, we serve millions of commuters daily.
