[What the role is]
You will be part of the team that curates, undertakes project management and implements exhibition projects and related initiatives to deliver quality exhibitions and experiences in line with the National Library Board’s branding and objectives and contribute towards NLB’s mission and vision.
[What you will be working on]
- To curate exhibitions which involves conceptualising narratives and experiences; conducting research, preparing textual content; selection and sourcing of artefacts; developing content for multimedia, interctive and audio-visual exhibits to meet desired quality and outcome.
- Work closely with both internal (e.g. Engagement, Marketing, Programming and Education Outreach teams) and external stakeholders (e.g. lenders, donor, designers and other vendors) on the planning and execution to achieve project deliverables.
- Conduct guided tours of exhibitions, public talks and other forms of public engagement in conjunction with exhibitions and train colleagues and volunteers to conduct guided tour for exhibitions.
- Promote public engagement through social media platforms (such as blogs, podcasts, videos etc.) and undertake media interviews and enquiries in relation to exhibitions.
- Develop partnerships and network with professionals in the industry to maximise impact of exhibitions or related projects.
[What we are looking for]
- 2 - 5 years of working experience in curation, content development and research for exhibitions or similar projects, preferably related to heritage, culture and the arts.
- Familiar with the process of exhibition making and able to formulate curatorial concepts for exhibitions.
- Good command of English and strong research skills and communication skills in writing and speaking.
- Possess strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and work exigencies when required.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with different internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge in Singapore history, heritage and culture; new media, technology and accessibility in exhibition and proficiency in other language(s) will be an advantage.
Successful applicants will be appointed on a 2-year contract in the first instance.
