Our MNC client's food ingredients are derived from natural herbs, spices, vegetables and hops. They are translated into easy-to-use liquid extracts ideal for most formulations. Their products meet the challenges faced by food and beverage manufacturers throughout the industry and more than 70 countries worldwide.

To service the customers in Asia, our Client has decided to set up a finishing centre in Singapore.

Working closely with the Site Director here, this is a pioneering role which will be responsible for setting up QA and QC processess and being hands on in order to meet business objectives.

This is a set-up stage and the right person will be someone who is able to work occasionally with heat, noise, odors, heights, confined spaces as a work-in-progress situation.

This is also someone who is ready to work as a sole contributor in this initial stage.

**The Role -**
- Manages the activities of the Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) department for including the direct supervision of QA/QC personnel (at later stage)
- As part of QA, leads quality and food safety initiatives through cross-functional teams. Works with teams on decisions that impact product quality to the customers and to reduce the cost of poor quality.
- Evaluates recurring non-conformances to prevent repeat occurrences and establish performance improvements.
- Leads and champions a disciplined problem-solving approach to address product quality and food safety issues.
- Evaluates and implements changes to QA systems to meet and/or exceed customer and regulatory expectations.
- Actively assesses food safety programs and implements corrective actions, training, and continuous improvement to ensure quality meets or exceeds regulatory and customer needs.
- Uses industry and trade association contacts to help develop customer and industry driven strategies and goals and aligns departmental activities to achieve these goals.
- As part of QC, leads the QC team to provide laboratory and technical support to verify product quality and support Manufacturing, Sales, Application and Customers.
- Develop standard analysis methodology and procedures.
- Work closely with the Manufacturing team on deviations, nonconformance and effectively identifying solutions by working with all respective teams.
- Leads and participates in the global QC initiatives and implements the changes in Singapore.

**The Person -**
- 5-10 years’ experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Systems/Process improvement, Supply chain, and/or Production in the food, beverage, or allied industries
- 2-3 years supervisory experience with history of developing employees with various background and experience levels
- Handled various QC equipment’s like GC, UPLC-MS, SP etc.,
- Demonstrated ability in leading cross-functional teams and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills - ability to work with people of differing experience, viewpoints, cultures, beliefs, and education levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired:

- 3/4-year college degree, preferably in Chemistry or related
- Background and experience in analytical chemistry and method development
- Prior QA/QC experience in similar industry
- Certified/Trained in HACCP, GMP, GDP, Allergen management, SQF, BRC, FSSC, ISO, Food Safety and Defense, FDA, Transport Safety, Integrated Pest Management.
