**About this opportunity**

The Associate Director, APAC Competitive Intelligence, is a critical role in the marketing organization of the Asia Pacific, responsible for competitor surveillance, preparedness, and response to maximize Align Technology’s position in relevant markets. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, collecting competitive intel via ethical and legal means, and working closely with peers and functional experts in global, regional, and sales teams to provide strategic insights and recommend market-specific actions for commercial and support teams. This position reports directly to the Senior Director, APAC Professional Marketing, Ortho.

**In this role, you will**
- Be part of a fun and exciting team of marketers passionate about what they are doing
- Conduct / augment analyses of the competitive landscape, including competitor products, trials, launch timelines, commercial tactics and results.
- Provide regular, accessible reporting on current and future competitive activities, including breaking news, covering the dental, orthodontic, and DSO (dental service organization) markets.
- Pursue answers to key competitive questions through various channels, including third-party analyst reports, syndicated market research, and conferences. Manage external vendors to assist in intelligence collection and reporting.
- Collaborate with experts and peers in global and local markets, particularly sales teams, to provide an integrated view of competitive threats facing the organization, and share best practices on collection and dissemination of competitive intel.
- Prepare, maintain, and present robust competitor dossiers and counter competition content that synthesize critical insights on their strategies and tactics to inform Align’s decision-making and action plans for key business activities, such as strategic brand planning, long
- and short-range forecasting, product development, and commercial tactics.

**In this role, you will need**
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in the dental industry, medical device company, or consulting firm supporting the medical device industry. Other relevant industry experience will also be considered.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or an equivalent field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Proven ability to work with teams across geographies, functions, particularly, sales teams and customers. Prior experience in sales strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of competitive intelligence techniques, including primary and secondary market research. Comfortable with both B2B and B2C analyses.
- Strong strategic and analytical skills, sound judgment, and ability to derive the big picture from scattered pieces of information.
- Excellent communication skills, especially, the ability to structure and present qualitative and complex information in an understandable, compelling, and actionable story.
- Willing to work in a fast paced and rapidly evolving environment.
