**Role Overview**:
We are seeking an accomplished and experienced Business Development Director to play a pivotal role in steering and advancing our business growth.

In this role, you will work closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders to implement strategic market initiatives, support the development of market propositions, and lead client acquisition efforts. This position requires a solid background in the maritime industry, along with outstanding technical and commercial expertise.

**Key Accountabilities**:
**GTM Strategy Development**:

- Collaborate with the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to define and articulate a comprehensive go-to-market strategy, focusing on communicating the value proposition of the company's unique approach and technology platform.
- Align the platform's capabilities with key industry priorities, including decarbonisation, fuel savings, emissions trading, and regulatory compliance.
- Work cross-functionally with commercial, strategy, and product teams to leverage domain expertise, industry insights, and market knowledge in defining potential solutions and options.

**Business Development**:

- Support the CCO in active customer engagements, spanning initial outreach, functional demonstrations, and deal closure.
- Deliver high-level overviews of the platform and collaborate with domain experts to address specific functionality queries informed by market trends and client feedback.
- Serve as a customer advocate throughout the engagement process, identifying and clarifying customer feedback and requirements.

**Lead Generation and Client Acquisition**:

- Leverage industry contacts and knowledge to drive business development efforts, with a primary focus on Singapore and the potential to expand into the Asia-Pacific region.
- Manage all stages of the business development process, from initial screening and qualification to outreach, pre-sales, and contract award.
- Extensive experience in a business development, preferably within the maritime industry with a strong network.
- Proven track record of success in business development and sales closure.
- Strong understanding of the shipping industry, including its challenges, opportunities, and priorities.
- Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to all levels within prospects organisational hierarchy.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with teams and stakeholders at all levels.
- Willingness to travel and engage with clients overseas as required.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages would be an advantage.
