**JOB SUMMARY
The Corporate Director of Rooms Operations is a key member of Capella Hotel Group Operations team. This position provides operational leadership and specialized knowledge & skills in all Rooms, Quality Assurance and Sustainability Disciplines. The position will report to the Senior Vice President, Operations and collaborate with related Vice Presidents, Corporate Directors and Hotel Guidance Team. The primary role is to provide Operational leadership by developing, implementing & sustaining programs that optimize guests’ experience and drive operational excellence within Front Office, Housekeeping, Culturist, Essentialist Program, Capella Little Stars and Patina Footprints programs as well as Heart of House areas.
**THE ROLE
- Accountable for driving consistent execution of Operations’ initiatives, troubleshooting issues, and providing a feedback loop to Corporate and Operations teams to ensure continuous improvements.
- Identify business and economic trends, and competitive intelligence, both within and outside of our industry, to drive the best-in-class, innovative Operations and Guest Experience as well as business opportunities or risks.
- Leads or actively supports the development of new processes that drive excellence in operations and guest experience.
- Support pre-opening discipline visits for hotel openings or participate in high priority projects or property visits, as required. This will include creating Pre-opening Budgets and Operating Supplies and Equipment Budgets as well as driving property Rooms opening critical Paths in ensuring successful openings for our expanded pipeline.
- Facilitate and activate Operations for market alignment on current initiatives, feedback for continuous improvement and to find opportunities to drive innovation relevant for the discipline.
- Develop and lead the execution of discipline-specific training classes for Operations.
- Involved in recruitment efforts to attract, develop and retain top talent for Operations.
- Active participant in the development of a global pipeline of talent for Operations.
- Innovate and implement Operations Initiatives to provide feedback for a broader implementation.
- Leverage vendor relationships for opportunities to improve product quality, service delivery, and enhanced training platforms.
- Business travel will be required as needed.
**TALENT PROFILE
**Qualification**
- Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, specializing in Rooms / F&B Operations management
**Work Experience**
- Minimum 5 years’ experiences in similar role at luxury hotels/resort.
- Minimum of 8+ years of progressively responsible work experience in Rooms / Hotels leading room’s disciplines.
- Executive Committee experience preferred.
- Multiple Department Head positions required.
- Luxury and/or Full-Service hotels; cross-brand experience.
- Pre-Opening experience preferred.
**Technical Skills**
- Proven track record of implementing rooms and guest experience initiatives and programs with sustained performance.
- Experience developing and implementing new concepts preferred.
- Proven track record of leading complex rooms operations with positive performance in balanced scorecard results.
- High level of specialized knowledge and skills in Front Office, Guest Services, Children’s Programming, Quality Assurance, Housekeeping and Laundry Operations.
- Must have strong knowledge in areas related to all rooms operations, SOPs and P&L budgeting.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Competent computing skills (e.g. Microsoft word)
- Strong knowledge of industry trends, financial and operation management of restaurants
- Excellent communicator with personable character and passion in creating extraordinary guest relations
