Job Description:
The incumbent provides clinical nursing leadership through assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the overall nursing practice and standards of care for patients in the designated unit.
Promotes and implements evidence-based nursing practice and acts as an expert resource.
He/ she also provides in-service training programmes for Nursing Aides and Day Hospice Assistants and provides supervision and mentorship to nurses.
Encourages and implements evidence-based nursing practice and acts as an expert resource.
The incumbent works in collaboration with members of an interdisciplinary team in a setting which provides twenty-four hours medical and nursing care, pain and symptom management and compassionate support for their patients and families.
He/She makes joint visits with home care nurses, conducts regular clinical and electronic documentation audit.
Leads the development of nursing teams clinical capabilities and clinical-related practices by auditing nurse performance and developing patient care models to fulfil the organisations vision and mission.
Reviews, develops and implements new nursing practice related processes and policies, in partnership with director of nursing and nurse manager.
Assess nurses competencies through joint visit audits and electronic medical record audits to identify learning needs for nurses in partnership with Director of Nursing and nurse managers.
Effectively communicates the nursing standards, policies and procedures and ensures that these are well understood, accessible and complied by the clinical team.
Assists in the planning and implementation of learning and development plans to nurture nurses clinical competencies progression.
Provides supervision and conducts orientation and induction training program for new nurses and newly promoted nurse manager to resource for specific nursing practice expertise (e.g.
assessment of pain and management etc) and evidence-based practices
Fosters sound professional collegial relationships with clinical teams, patients and public.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
SNB Registered Nurse
Degree in Nursing
Post registration experience in oncology, Geriatric Care or Palliative Care
At least 5 years experience in specialty area, including some years of conducting training and with coaching & mentoring experience.
Knowledge of Current trends in nursing.
Daily travelling is required
Monday to 830am to 530pm
Friday 830 am to 5pm
Salary up to $6000
