**_Job Summary: _**
The Chief of Staff position for this organization is responsible for aligning business objectives and achieving result orientation from the business team stationed across African and Middle East continent in multiple countries. The position formulates partnerships with functional teams on ground in Africa and Middle East, external stakeholders/vendors and with management based out of Singapore corporate office to make sure everything runs smoothly throughout company operations in multiple geographies. Chief of staff maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture, and its competition.
**_Supervisory Responsibilities: _**
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities rather it is more of a coordination and analytical responsibilities with strong knowledge, understanding and expertise on operations in Africa and Middle East. It also serves as the coach and mentor for the functional teams based in Africa to translate organization’s/corporate Ethos and Philosophy across the team.
**_Duties/Responsibilities: _**
- In depth knowledge of African and Middle east geography, business dynamics and operational requirements.
- Knowledge on African Agri-value chain and local cultural dynamics to ensure smooth operations.
- Knowledge of French is preferably for effective communication in west African geographies.
- Frequent travel required to Africa and Middle East.
- Conducts weekly meetings with respective executive leaders.
- Consults with top management, providing guidance when appropriate.
- Analyses trends and metrics for the organisation to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
- Assist the executive team members to determine and prioritize business strategies based on their schedules
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees in Africa and Middle East, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Determine key performance indicators and how to measure team performance for top management (e.g., coaching, counselling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Works closely with top management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Provides company policy guidance and interpretation.
- Assists international employees with expatriate assignments and all strategic matters.
- Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning to top management.
- Manage the Chief Executive’s schedule, including scheduling meetings and planning travel.
**_Required Skills/Abilities: _**
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Experience with budget management
- Consulting experience with a focus on operations management
- Proven success in a project coordination role
- Nimble business mind with a focus on developing creative solutions.
- Strong project reporting skills, with a focus on interdepartmental communication
**_Education and Experience: _**
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in Agri business in Africa and Middle East with capability of managing large team stationed in Africa.
- Strong working knowledge on African and Middles East geographies and multiple federal and state employment/labour laws.
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce & MBA
