As part of the IT Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for enterprise data backup protection and to optimized end-to-end Enterprise backup operations to support the digitalisation requirements of MPA. In addition, you will:

- Ensure that IT infrastructure projects are implemented within schedule, in accordance to the requirements, quality and security standards of the Authority and Whole of Government (WOG).
- Manage the day-to-day Storage and enterprise backup administration
- Identify, explore and introduce new technologies for better scalability, resiliency and performance of the IT infrastructure, while ensuring a sustainable and lower cost of ownership of the IT infrastructure.

Your key duties and responsibilities will include:
1. Perform daily monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of backup jobs on platforms (Windows, VMware, Nutanix and UNIX/Linux servers)

2. Manage and support Storage systems, including patch management remediation, capacity planning, configuration management, provisioning and zoning of new servers on SAN switches.

3. Installation, configuring and troubleshooting of Windows Servers, MS Failover Cluster, Veritas Storage system & Hitachi SAN

4. Troubleshooting of VERITAS NetBackup and SAN issues

5. Analyse backup software performance and monitoring of scheduled backups to ensure success or take remedial action for backup failures

6. Monitor usage and performance of storage and perform capacity planning for storage growth

7. Manage storage and backup changes through change request process & provide status reports to the relevant parties.

8. Respond promptly to incident, investigate & provide temporary &/or permanent resolution of incidents escalated

9. Manage backup replication and data movements during activities such as disaster recovery

10. Perform regular DR (Disaster Recovery) test plan of backup data restoration and storage replication availability.

11. Monitor the agreed service level, document & maintain the configuration of the systems; provide regular reporting to relevant parties

12. Manage the technology refresh plan to ensure software and hardware compliance

13. Responsible for performing Backup ad-hoc operational tasks and maintaining availability at the POCC sites.

14. Ensure compliance with internal Quality Management System and Government IM8 and CSA requirements for IT and cybersecurity.

**Requirements**:
1. At least a relevant university degree.

2. Minimum 5 years relevant working experience in storage and backup administration in large or complex environment.

3. Strong knowledge in Veritas Netbackup / Veeam / Dell Tape Library / Hitachi VSP, HUSVM, Brocade and Cisco SAN switches

4. Knowledge in OS Windows / Linux / UNIX / Virtualization platform / SQL databases

5. Experience in tapeless backup solution to Cloud will be an advantage.

6. Good verbal and written communication skills.

7. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

8. Good interpersonal and team management skills.

9. Competent in administration of Windows servers, Unix/Linux servers, VMware, Veeam and NetBackup.
