**Staff Management**:Supervising and coordinating the activities of service staff, including waiters/waitresses, hosts/hostesses, and bartenders.
Assigning duties and responsibilities to staff members based on workload and skill level.
Conducting regular training sessions to ensure that all staff members are knowledgeable about menu items, service standards, and customer interaction.
- **Customer Service**:Leading by example in providing exceptional customer service.
Handling customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests promptly and professionally.
Monitoring service levels and taking proactive steps to address any issues that may arise during service.
- **Shift Coordination**:Creating and managing shift schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours.
Briefing staff members at the beginning of each shift regarding special promotions, menu changes, or any other relevant information.
Maintaining communication with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of food orders and smooth coordination between front and back of house.
- **Quality Control**:Conducting regular inspections of dining areas, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and adherence to health and safety standards.
Monitoring food presentation and ensuring that dishes meet the restaurant's quality standards.
Providing feedback and coaching to staff members to improve performance and maintain service excellence.
- **Inventory Management**:Assisting in inventory management tasks such as stock replenishment, stocktaking, and managing inventory levels of service-related items (e.g., cutlery, glassware, condiments).
Reporting any discrepancies or shortages in inventory to the management team.
- **Training and Development**:Identifying training needs among service staff and coordinating training sessions to address those needs.
Providing ongoing coaching and feedback to support staff development and performance improvement.
Encouraging and recognizing outstanding performance through rewards and incentives.
- **Team Communication**:Facilitating effective communication between service staff and management.
Conducting regular team meetings to discuss updates, address concerns, and gather feedback.
Acting as a liaison between front-of-house and back-of-house teams to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- **Compliance and Regulations**:Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, including food safety standards, liquor licensing laws, and labor regulations.
Keeping abreast of any changes in regulations and ensuring that staff members are aware of and adhere to them.
