Senior Ui/ux Designer

We are seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer with a strong proficiency in user experience (UX) principles to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the design process throughout multiple product features, providing a seamless and satisfying user experience for both our internal teams and external stakeholders. Your role will encompass research, ideation, prototyping, and iterative design, ensuring our products not only look great but also work intuitively.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead UX research efforts through user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and data analysis to deeply understand user behaviours, needs, motivations, and pain points across command levels (strategic, operational and tactical)
- Translate research insights into clear user journeys, personas, task flows, and actionable design decisions that improve usability and drive user satisfaction.
- Design and iterate on user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups (including video wall layout) for cybersecurity operations to effectively communicate interaction and design intent.
- Work closely with data engineers and backend developers to design usable visualisations from various data sources available on the data platform.
- Optimise layout of video wall dashboards for different operational scenarios
- Conduct usability testing and feedback loops with the operational users. Incorporate user feedback into the design process, iterating on designs to enhance usability and accessibility.
- Ensure visual hierarchy and real time alerting is effective across red/blue teams and command tiers
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and developers, to ensure designs are feasible and aligned with business objectives.
- Regularly test and validate designs with real users, incorporating feedback to continuously refine and enhance the user experience.
- Advocate for best practices in UX/UI design, contributing to style guides, design systems, and standard operating procedures.

**Requirements**:

- At least 5 years of experience in UX design for cybersecurity operations or a related field, with a strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design thinking, research, and end-to-end product design.
- Demonstrated experience designing for cybersecurity operations, mission critical systems or government command centres
- Deep expertise in user research, usability testing, heuristic evaluation, and translating findings into design solutions.
- Expertise in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar and familiarity with front-end development.
- Experience working in agile or scaled agile (SAFe) environment with engineers and product owners
- Familiarity with cybersecurity operations, or emergency operations centre is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles, usability testing methodologies, and accessibility guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present, defend, and rationalize design choices to stakeholders of varying levels.
- A collaborative attitude with a passion for working in an agile environment and advocating for user-centric solutions.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a data-driven mindset, capable of translating quantitative and qualitative research into actionable insights.
