ROLE SUMMARY
The incumbent reports to the Senior Director, External Supply, Network Design & Performance (ES NDP)
The Director of External Supply (ES), Operational Excellence (OE) is to:
- Provide Business facing OE Support to ES Business Units (BU)
- Lead/Support/Coach OE Solution in the ES Business Unit e.g. Continuous Improvement Loop, IMEx Deployment, Innovation, Agile Transformation, Complex Investigations in alignment with the ES/OE Strategies
- Lead and/or coach Lean/Six Sigma projects for ES Business Units(s)/CMO and support functions to diagnose and improve processes. This may also be on a regional basis
- Build OE & Innovation capabilities at the BU and selected CMOs
- Coach the ES BU on embedding a CI Culture
- Lead a Global OE program across External Supply in alignment with the ES/OE Strategies
- Lead/support ES Strategies and T5 Initiatives
- Lead/support ES IMEx
- Be an active member of the NDP team in devising the OE and ES Strategies
- ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide Business facing OE Support to ES Business Units (BU)
- Drive the BU Governance in alignment with IMEx
- Be a central part of the ES BU and a facilitator as needed of the weekly, monthly and quarterly cadence of team meetings e.g. facilitate VSLT, BRM. Ensure process confirmations are actively used for all governance.
- Drive a CI Culture and Act as OE SME within the BU
- Facilitate/Co-lead the BU Strategy and Goal setting
- Lead/Support/Coach OE Solution in the ES Business Unit e.g. Continuous Improvement Loop, IMEx Deployment, Innovation, Agile Transformation, Complex Investigations in alignment with the ES/OE Strategies
- Lead/Coach the CI Process within the BU at VSLT and VSOT levels
- Lead/Support/Coach the deployment of ES OS solutions e.g. Continuous Improvement Loop, IMEx Deployment, Agile Transformation, EIRM, facilitate Innovations Workshops at the BU level
- Coach Complex Investigations using the established process
- Lead and/or coach Lean/Six Sigma projects for ES Business Units(s)/CMO and support functions to diagnose and improve processes. This may also be on a regional basis
- Use CI to identify and lead/coach Lean/Six Sigma projects using M1, M2, M3 mthodology
- Work with functions (e.g. GTE & ESQ) to identify and execute Lean/Six Sigma opportunities at CMOs
- Work with the ES OE team to ensure appropriate skills are deployed by BU and region
- Build OE & Innovation capabilities at the BU and selected CMOs
- Build M1, M2, M3, M4, PHP and Innovation capabilities within the BU in conjunction with the PGS NPD team
- Build M1 and PHP capability at selected CMOs
- Coach the ES BU on embedding a CI Culture
- Respectfully challenge the Status Quo and seek to identify Value Add/Non-Value Add
- Embed CI mindsets & behaviors in the BU team and supporting functions
- Lead a Global OE program across External Supply in alignment with the ES/OE Strategies
- Co Design and lead a Global Program that spans all of ES e.g. Cycle Time, Capability Building, EIRM, Agile Transformations
- Lead/Support ES Strategies and T5 Initiatives (Eg. IMEx, etc)
- Be an active member of the NDP team in devising the OE and ES Strategies
- Contribute to the OE & ES Strategies
- Assist with co-design of OE programs
- Facilitate NDP team meetings
- BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in associated discipline is required (i.e., Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or Science)
- 10+ years of manufacturing and/or supply experience
- 5+ years hands-on analytics/six sigma/continuous improvement experience
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt trained and certified minimum
- Incumbent must be fluent both written and verbally in English.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified Innovation Coach
- M1 Train the trainer
- Languages such as Spanish, Italian and French are preferred but not required
- 5+ years coaching and certifying successful six sigma green belts and black belts
- Proven skills in managing large scale initiatives
- Demonstrated coaching skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of a broad range of operational excellence methodologies / programs
- Ability to define, evaluate and recommend improvement opportunities across the E2E to achieve and sustain improvements
- Strong business acumen with manufacturing and supply chain experiences preferred
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization and a proven track record in change management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to guide and / or lead diverse teams,
- Strong analytical and problem solving
- Adaptable to work priorities in response to complex and rapidly changing environment
- Ability to navigate ES organization and operate in a multicultural environment
- Develop and execute strategies with mínimal guidance
- Fully complete Covid-19 vaccination and could provide official medical certificate
