PostgreSQL, Sr. Consultant

**Location**: Singapore

The Position

Ashnik is looking for talented and passionate person to join our database technical team in Singapore.

Qualification and Experience
Preferably have a working experience of 6-8 Years plus, on production PostgreSQL DBs
Experience of working in a production support environment
Engineering or Equivalent degree
Essential skills
Excellent Communication
Should be able to communicate to Sr. Management external / internal
Should be able to lead the team technically
Should have worked on PostgrSQL Community and EDB
Experience in building architecture of HA using inbuilt and external tools
Expertise with Windows/Linux Operating Systems and cloud hosting providers (Azure/AWS etc.)
Should have at least one public cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP)deployment experience
Experience in installation, configuration and maintenance of PostgreSQL from 9.5 to 13.x
Experience of PostgreSQL administration on Linux and Windows
Experience of backing up and restoring PostgreSQL database
Hands-on experience with Database schema creation and performance tuning and ongoing support
Work experience in migration from Oracle/MySQL to PostgreSQL using EDB MTK

**Responsibilities**:
Managing replication and failover in a cluster of PostgreSQL servers using EDB EFM tool
Administering large PostgreSQL database’s ability to do performance tuning
Monitoring databases to optimize database performance and diagnosing any issue
Performing vacuum and analyse on the high-volume tables and databases which will remove the bloats and will update the statistics of the database
Proactive managing replication like Streaming replication and logical replication using xDB
Writing scripts for schedule vacuuming
Tuning auto vacuum parameters to ensure up to date table stats and reclaim space consumed by dead tuples
Monitoring the bloat report on every table and performing maintenance with mínimal downtime
Administering the database security, creating users, granting roles, privileges to users
Deploying different extensions on database server
Deployment of external tools on the top of PostgreSQL-Server (pgbouncer,pgbadger)
