Are you interested to take your teaching career to the next level? As Head of Department, you will be expected collaborate with University partners and Industry experts to develop high quality programmes in Psychology.

**You should already have**:

- PhD in Psychology with at least 5 years of teaching experience at tertiary level and research supervision
- Eligible for membership / member of recognized national psychological association
- Relevant expertise in psychology that support the teaching and administrative responsibilities for the school
- Demonstrated administrative experience
- Demonstrated experience administration of academic programs such as curriculum development and management;
- High standard of integrity and reliability
- Able to take on leadership responsibilities in teaching and/or Research
- Demonstrated capacity to analyse statistical data and prepare reports
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work as a leader of a team as well as a member of a team

**Your role will include**:
Teaching - 50%
- Initiate programs to assist staff in improving their teaching skills
- Monitor the update of the curriculum to ensure that advances in teaching areas are translated into the curriculum and the synergies offered by the introduction of the new disciplines within the School are maximized
- Recommend to the Academic Director teaching schedules for staff which ensure an equitable distribution of the overall workload (teaching, administration and scholarship/research)
- Monitor the assessment procedures applied to students in courses in the School
- Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, laboratory classes, seminars and workshops
- Mark and moderate of assessments and examinations
- Provide academic mentoring to students
- Development of course material
- Consultation with students including counselling
- Attendance at School meetings and membership of School and Academy committees
- Perform academic responsibilities of, and related administration for, the coordination of award programs
- To undertake other duties, as required assigned from time to time by the Academic Director or Supervisor.

Leadership and Planning
- Provide leadership to academic staff in the school
- Asisst in quality audits and assessments under Edutrust requirements
- Assist in building partnerships with universities and other institutions as part of the drive to introduce new teaching programs and increase student enrolments
- Provide suggestions in developing possible cross-discipline programmes with other Schools

Management of the School
- Undertake performance reviews for lecturers, as required
- Participate in recruitment, training and counselling of lecturers
- Provide reports to Academic Board in accordance with CPE requirements and company policy
- Provide reports to international partners, as required
- Assist in review of policies and operational procedures to maximize efficiency and encourage improvement
- Participate in the development of external networks, e.g. student recruitment; facilitate internship; build relationships for future activities, partnership and links with industry
- Undertake other duties, consistent with the position, as requested by the Academic Director or Supervisor
