**What the role is**
- As Manager / Senior Manager (Policy), you will be part of a team that engages internal and external stakeholders to develop and refine gambling policies that advance GRA’s standing as a credible and forward-looking regulator.
**What you will be working on**
- Develop and review regulatory policies and approaches for new and emerging gambling products and activities. This includes conducting environmental scans of the gambling industry and landscape to understand the latest trends, developing in-depth understanding of the technologies that may be used by gambling operators (e.g. metaverse casinos, cryptocurrencies), engaging other regulators (e.g. Monetary Authority of Singapore, Info-comms and Media Development Authority) and industry players, and assessing the regulatory risks of such developments. - Conduct research into online games with gambling elements (e.g. loot boxes) and gain hands-on experience and knowledge of the online games to understand the game mechanics and design, and to develop appropriate regulatory responses to deal with areas of concern. - Develop sense-making capabilities in data analysis and behavioural insights to aid in evidence-based policy development. This includes identifying the data to be collected, conducting trials to understand patron behaviour, and leveraging on data analytics tools to assess the effectiveness of GRA’s regulatory policies. - Craft policies to balance the interests of Government/Singapore and the needs of the gambling industry through collaboration with key agencies such as the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Singapore Tourism Board, Singapore Police Force and Ministry of Finance. - Collaborate with partner agencies such as the Ministry of Social and Family Development and National Council on Problem Gambling Conduct on gambling research and surveys, and review of social safeguard policies to develop and strengthen interventions to minimise harm from gambling.
**What we are looking for**
- At least 2-3 years of relevant experience is preferred - Knowledge and prior work experience in policy development will be an added advantage - Dynamic and self-motivated and take initiative, work independently as well as in a team - Strong in interpersonal, communication and presentation skills - Resourceful and possesses strong sense of curiosity to explore and study new trends and technologies in the gambling industry - Open to challenges of crafting policies with few or no precedents - Has a keen eye for details
