
Asbestos Removal Hse Officer

Prepare, isolate, and set up work areas for asbestos removal including containment, negative-pressure systems, and access control.
- Safely remove ACMs such as asbestos roof sheets, ceiling boards, insulation, gaskets, and other materials using approved tools and techniques.
- Operate specialized removal equipment, wear appropriate PPE, and follow strict personal and team decontamination procedures.
- Properly package, label, and transport asbestos waste according to local laws and company policies.
- Maintain accurate removal records and complete all manifests, checklists, and disposal forms.
- Support the company’s HSE Officer in conducting safety briefings, daily toolbox meetings, and safety inductions.
- Assist with on-site safety inspections, hazard identification, and enforcement of safe work practices.
- Help monitor workers for proper use of PPE, respiratory protection, and other safety equipment.
- Participate in risk assessments, updating Method Statements (MS) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP) as required.
- Report safety observations, incidents, and near-misses to the HSE Officer promptly and support incident investigations and follow-up.
- Maintain up-to-date records of safety training, inspection logs, equipment checks, and other safety documentation.
- Assist in emergency preparedness, including mock drills, and support the implementation of safety corrective/preventive actions.
**Requirements**:
- At least possess diploma or equivaleent and relevant WSHO and Abesto certificates
- At least two years’ experience in supervision of asbestos with project references
- Relevant certification or qualification in asbestos removal work as recognized by local authority (e.g. MOM-approved Asbestos Removal Course).
- Prior hands-on experience in asbestos removal or related hazardous material handling is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Singapore Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations, particularly around asbestos management.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and wear protective gear for extended periods.
- Good communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Physical fitness and ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and under varying weather conditions.
