As a Data Center Architect, you will play a vital role in translating business and technical requirements into innovative and efficient data center designs. Your expertise in data center architecture and construction will ensure the successful implementation of cutting-edge facilities.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Data Center Design: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements, and translate them into functional and cost-effective data center designs.
- Architectural Planning: Develop architectural plans, concepts, and layouts for data center facilities, ensuring adherence to industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Space Planning: Optimize space utilization within the data center, considering equipment layout, power and cooling requirements, security, and accessibility.

Infrastructure Design: Develop comprehensive designs for power distribution, cooling systems, structured cabling, fire suppression, security systems, and other critical data center infrastructure components.
- Technical Documentation: Create detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents using industry-standard software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
- Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, contractors, and vendors, to ensure effective coordination and integration of architectural designs with other disciplines.
- Material Selection: Evaluate and select appropriate building materials, finishes, and systems that meet performance requirements, durability, and sustainability goals.
- Compliance and Code Adherence: Stay up-to-date with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards related to data center design and ensure compliance throughout the design and construction phases.
- Construction Oversight: Monitor construction activities, conduct site visits, and provide technical guidance to contractors to ensure adherence to architectural design intent, quality standards, and project timelines.
- Risk Management: Identify potential design risks and propose mitigation strategies to ensure the safety, reliability, and scalability of the data center facilities.
- Quality Control: Conduct inspections and quality control checks to ensure that construction activities align with approved designs, specifications, and industry best practices.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive documentation, including design reports, specifications, design change orders, and as-built drawings, to support project documentation requirements.

**Key Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in data center architecture, preferably with a focus on design and construction phases.
- Strong knowledge of data center design principles, including space planning, power and cooling requirements, infrastructure layout, security, and scalability.
- Proficiency in architectural design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM) for creating technical drawings, 3D models, and construction documents.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., Uptime Institute, TIA-942, local building codes) governing data center design and construction.
- Experience in coordinating and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, project managers, and contractors.
- Strong understanding of building systems, materials, and construction techniques related to data center facilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex architectural and engineering challenges.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey architectural concepts and technical information to stakeholders.
- Professional licensure (Registered Architect) and industry certifications (e.g., LEED AP) are desirable.
