As IT Specialist you will be responsible for all IT related tasks and projects, ensuring the seamless operation of IT systems that support trading activities, and you will be working closely with our electricity and gas traders covering the European nights. This position requires a balance of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and effective communication to maintain a high level of performance, security, and reliability within the company's IT infrastructure.

Your responsibilities:

- On-site maintenance, tech support and troubleshooting.
- Development and maintenance of IT infrastructure.
- Development and maintenance of tools for commodity trading, finance, and compliance.
- Collaborate with various teams to understand technical requirements and align IT services with business needs.
- Coordinate the implementation of software patches, updates, and hardware upgrades to maintain system integrity.

Your qualifications:

- You have extensive experience from a similar position in a European commodity trading company. You must be able to work directly with our traders and “speak their language” to solve any urgent issues that may arise.
- You are a skilled user of C# (.NET 6 and.NET Framework 4.x), Java, Python and VBA.
- You are familiar with MS SQL as a database and Alembic to manage it as code.
- You are well-acquainted with Git for version control, GitHub Actions for automated tests/builds, Docker for software packaging and Ansible for deployment.
- You have experience managing servers (both Windows and Linux; on-prem and in Azure) and you are comfortable with only a command line interface.
- You can perform standard hardware/software troubleshooting of PCs, phones and printers.
- You know how to manage users, computers and group policies in Active Directory, and you have previously managed mailboxes, groups and mail flow rules in Microsoft Exchange Online.
- You have a good understanding of computer networking (IPv4, DNS/DHCP, routing/firewalling, WiFi).
- You are a strong team player with a competitive nature, and you thrive in taking responsibility.
- You possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
