Tech Lead

**The Team**

The digital onboarding Scrum team is at the heart of Sygnum’s seamless client experience. Being one of the first touchpoints of our clients’ journey, we package challenging onboarding processes like identity verification and KYC into a frictionless and fast user experience. Behind the scenes, we manage complex compliance workflows and integrations across many systems and teams in order to finally provide our clients with access to the rest of Sygnum’s banking platform.

As a tech lead you will drive these efforts and lead a team dedicated to advancing our digital-first banking vision. We're seeking for a technically skilled and passionate leader ready to innovate in the fintech space, guiding our team towards new heights in digital banking.

**The Role**

As a tech lead, you are comfortable wearing two hats: tech and management.

**With the technical, you will**
- Lead a team of software engineers to develop and own state-of-the-art solutions
- Actively participate in developing new features and improvements by writing and reviewing high-quality, secure code with comprehensive test coverage
- Collaborate with platform engineers to enhance CI/CD pipelines and streamline release processes
- Respond to production incidents promptly and efficiently, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and restore service continuity

**With the managerial, you will**
- Nurture and guide software engineers through coaching and mentoring
- Enhance the team's efficiency and effectiveness by driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Partner with product managers and stakeholders to plan new features and improvements
- Facilitate blameless retrospectives and post-mortems to foster a culture of learning from mistakes
- Cultivate a psychologically safe environment where every team member feels empowered to contribute meaningfully to the organization's growth

**Few things that will help on the job**
- Expertise in TypeScript and Node.js backends (ideally NestJS)
- Expertise in Java (17+) and Java EE (ideally Spring Boot or Quarkus)
- Knowledge in working with RDBMS (ideally PostgreSQL).
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks like ReactJS, Angular, etc.
- Designing flexible and robust REST APIs with an API first approach.
- Understanding microservices, event driven architecture and being able to implement features with focus on resilience, fault tolerance and security.
- Working knowledge of Docker and containerization
- Experience of working with Kubernetes is beneficial.
- Experience of working with AWS is beneficial.
- Prior experience with digital onboarding solutions and KYC within the financial industry is preferred but not required.
- Prior experience in leading an engineering team with focus on quality and delivery.
- Prior experience in dealing with various stakeholders (Business users, IT Architecture, Product Owners, Business Analysts).
