The Product Manager is responsible for all aspects of a product including the coordination of activities across various departments. This extends from increased adoption of existing software to developing new features for the platform. Specific responsibilities in this role include:

- Product thought leader on our platform including strategy, requirements, prioritization, and the roadmap
- Lead engagement with various stakeholders as product leader for development and delivery of the features on SMARTShip platform
- Own and manage the product backlog including writing stories, mitigating risk, prioritizing effectively, and unblocking the team
- Provide input to support workforce and staff planning
- Introduce process to enable/support scale and drive toward greater predictability of delivery
- Synthesize market needs into product requirements and drive alignment with leadership on prioritization for the roadmap
- Lead workshops and other cross functional exercises to explore product opportunities
- Collaborate with other functions to develop and drive product strategy while ensuring alignment with greater business goals and objectives
- Articulate a compelling product vision and inspire cross-functional teams to rally around it
- Work across the organization to partner with and support various stakeholders key to delivering product
- Enable customer-facing teams with product knowledge and direction
- Engage with customers and lending product thought leadership in support of further product development, customer success, and BD activities

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field.
- 3+ years of product management experience in relevant Software development, IoT platforms or Enterprise.
- 3+ years maritime domain experience
- Demonstrated success defining, launching, and maintaining excellent products.
- Basic knowledge of software development platforms, databases, infrastructure and Cloud environment.
- Excellent analytical skills, confident to present a point of view and reason well with Business & Engineering stakeholders.
- Deep technical acumen and demonstrated ability partnering with Engineering
- Strong interpersonal team skills, fluent communicator, collaborative mindset and team player attitude.
- Work well under pressure and be able to prioritize to meet deadlines and quickly shift priorities as necessary.
- Ability to multitask, work independently and demonstrate keen attention to details.
- Ability to communicate with diplomacy and tact and communicate ideas including responding to resistance and criticism.
- Experience writing detailed stories, managing and prioritizing backlog health, and delivering with cross functional teams
- Positive attitude and demonstrated optimism.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Project management skills to understand project plans and aid in communication to others are beneficial.
- Experienced working in an Agile development environment

**Education Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree required
- MBA / master’s is a plus.
