**Who are we looking for?**
We are looking for a proactive and dedicated person to join the administrative team of the programme and
provide essential support to our researchers and scientists in their important work. This junior HR role is suitable
for recent graduate and will work closely with our HR Manager. The post holder will support the Chief-of-Staff
and HR Manager with the following:
Be a friendly, efficient first-point-of-call for researchers and other staff members working on the
programme for enquiries on HR and other administrative matters;
Administer recruitment, new starter, probation and leaver processes;
Assist staff with HR processes, such as booking leave, visa matters, organising appraisal schedules and
utilizing the benefits package;
Ensure up-to-date records are kept of all necessary staff information;
Assist with ensuring the CARES Employee Handbook is always up-to-date and that other information
needed is easily available via staff intranet & elsewhere;
CARES Internship Scheme;
Assist programme members visiting from Cambridge and other official visitors in organising their stays;
Be a first-point-of-contact with partner institutions on HR matters;
Assist in organising staff events;
Provide support to maintain a productive, pleasant work environment and in ensuring staff welfare is
well attended to;
Assist with staff insurances;
Occasional assistance with payroll process;
Be a proactive member of our small, friendly administrative team and take pride in providing an
excellent support service to our researchers and scientists.
Our team is small and so we all take on some general duties in addition to our specialist roles. This means that
we all have varied, interesting roles and plentiful opportunities for professional development and learning new

**What skills do you have?**
Good degree or Diploma with 1-2 years office experience (HR experience an advantage)
A friendly, positive attitude and a desire to provide a fantastic service to the research teams is essential
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to relate well to people at all levels in the organisation
and external people
Competent in standard software packages, e.g. Word, Excel
Good standard of communication in written and spoken English
Able to prioritise own workload and be proactive in problem-solving
Excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail
Works well in a small team, with team-spirit for doing what is needed to provide an excellent
administrative service to the organisation
