POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Senior Cloud Engineer will be joining the Security Team of Hex Trust, responsible for administering the Cloud Infrastructure and Environments. The role supports will work closely with engineering teams and other functions in Security Team by providing cloud solutions architecture services and development of self-service tooling to enable efficient management of infrastructure resources.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage Cloud Services on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Provide advisory services of AWS and GCP’s service offerings to internal teams. Act as a solution architect for product development teams in need of cloud infrastructure expertise.
Maintain High Availability of Hex Trust’s infrastructure, including both Cloud (mainly) and On-premise Infrastructure (such as Firewalls).
Improve on our existing automated infrastructure management methodologies and platforms (Terraform IaC, AWS EKS, etc.)
Enhance Hex Trust’s Infrastructure and Cloud Monitoring Mechanism
Design and implementation of a global resilient network by deploying both Cloud Services and traditional network infrastructure.
Build and lead a multi-cloud strategy for Hex Trust.
**Requirements**:
Tertiary Education in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or other relevant fields.
7+ years of experience in System Administration, Network Administration or Infrastructure Operations, with at least 4 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer.
Experience with AWS is a must. Experience with GCP or Azure is a plus.
Proficiency of Linux, Python / Perl / Bash / Shell Scripting is a must.
Practical experience in Networking (DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP, TLS/SSL) is a must. Knowledge of Fortinet products is an advantage.
Proficiency of Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Management toolsets is a must (Terraform, Ansible etc.).
Firm grasp of TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting bothin traditional IT infrastructure and cloud VPC’s.
Good understanding of DevOps and CI/CD, with practical experience in relevant toolsets (GitLab, Kubernetes etc.)
Understanding of AWS’s latest services and offering (Including but not limited to DirectConnect, EKS Blueprints, Graviton, Config, CloudFront and Workspaces)
Effective communication and collaboration skills. Solid interpersonal skills conducive to a team environment.
Able to debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues.
Self-driven & motivated, with a strong work ethic and a passion for problem solving.
