Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans.
- Maintain proper inventory levels and control departmental budget to facilitate operations.
- Manage day to day staffing requirements, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for employees.
- Respond to guest complaints, special requests and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction.
- Develop and implement housekeeping system and procedures.
- Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help to manage conflict and improve employee performance.
- Interview, evaluate and motivate housekeeping team.
- Check on subordinate attendance, punctuality and general grooming.
- Ensure that all guestrooms, function rooms, public areas, back of the house areas and their surroundings conform to Hotel’s standards of cleanliness, maintenance and orderliness.
- Report the findings to the Management after conducting periodic checks on inspected hotel rooms and premises regularly, ensures that furnishings, facilities and equipment are cleaned, repaired, maintained and replaced as necessary.
- Brief Housekeeping Team on functions, VIP arrivals and other events that will necessitate additional or special preparations.
- Responsible for duty roster planning and timesheet approval in attendance system.
- Must have good knowledge of the availability of rooms for the day including the occupancy and average room rate.
- Maintain records of cleaning programmes and to test cleaning equipment and detergent samples.
- Oversee all skills and on-the-job training for all employees in the housekeeping department.
- Assist in renovation, refurbishment programs if any.
- Oversee all the inventories process and report.
- Coordinate with contractors on existing projects or new assignments.
- Establish a rapport with outside contractors servicing the Hotel.
- Ensure fire safety measures are followed and that sanitation programs are adhered to.
- Familiarize with security, fire & safety procedure and carry out the policies established by the hotel.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Management.
