**Purpose**

Settlement & Clearing is a client facing division within Global Wholesale Operations, responsible for ensuring timely and accurate settlement of trade obligations, whilst providing a professional and exemplary customer experience.

This role contributes to the overall success of Settlement & Clearing, with a focus on Cash Management and Fixed Income products, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives

**Accountabilities**

The incumbent is required to perform Cash Management and Fixed Income settlement; cross training and coverage of FX, Money Market, Securities and Derivative products in support of the Global and Local Settlement and Clearing strategies. Leads and oversees Cash management, Fixed Income and Treasury settlement as part of the wider Settlement and Clearing Utility for GWO in Singapore ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed/delivered in compliance with governing regulation, internal policies and procedures.
- Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
- Processing SWIFT payments/receipts.
- Monitoring all Settlements across multiple desks.
- Liaising with custodian(s) and counterparties to ensure settlement.
- Managing exceptions.
- Posting accounting entries.
- Working directly with Front Office and Middle Offices with regards to general enquiries and issues.
- Ensuring settlement obligations are funded appropriately
- Assisting with reconciliation of daily/ monthly/annual settlement breaks
- Prepare daily consolidated cash positions, reconcile daily bank positions with cash flow,
- investigate discrepancies if needed
- Ensure all currencies are sufficiently funded to prevent any short in accounts for the different entities supported.
- Adhering to end of day control checks and reporting.
- Adhering to procedures and ensuring they remain up to date and relevant.
- Adhering to the Escalation matrix for Settlement and Clearing.
- Provides day to day supervision to team (2-3 FTE), including coaching on performance, coordinating activities, checking on quality and work progress.
- Collaborates with others to ensure sufficient cross training and coverage is in place for team processes
- Acts as an escalation point for internal and external counterparties
- Represents and participates in projects related to the team

Additionally, the incumbent is required to
- Provide accurate and informative analysis to the management as requested.
- Escalate all matters of irregular nature or concern to the management team.

**Education / Experience / Other Information**
- Industry Experience in Settlements/ Operations - Treasury, Fixed Income and Cash Management
- Strong organizational skills, ability to make decision under pressure to eliminate any risk/exposure to the Bank
- Good communication skills and ability to escalate to Management/ Front Office as deemed necessary.
- Able to act independently within the framework of established bank procedures.
