Risk & Compliance Manager

**Purpose of the role**:
This position will lead the Regional Risk and Compliance team in ensuring that Canopius APAC (CAPL) has a robust risk and compliance framework and be the point of contact for all compliance matters for entities reporting into Canopius from the Asia Pacific region. As a Risk & Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for driving an Enterprise Risk Management framework which actively identifies, assesses, measures, controls and reports on significant risks from all sources.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Raise awareness of the regulatory requirements throughout CAPL
- Build and maintain good relationships with all key regulators including Lloyd’s in various jurisdictions that CAPL operates in and Overseas Regulators (where appropriate)
- Work closely with underwriters and senior managers to ensure CAPL is able to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements
- Oversee that CAPL has robust Internal Controls in place which actively identify, control and report on the management of significant risks
- Act as the central co-ordinator for regulatory interaction with Lloyd’s
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory deadlines
- Work with the Compliance team in London on the review and maintenance of Lloyd’s Minimum Standards templates for CAPL
- Prepare and deliver an appropriate compliance monitoring plan and report the results to senior managers on a regular basis;
- Monitor and communicate emerging conduct and prudential compliance risks to senior management;
- Monitor and ensure CAPL has appropriate controls in relation to sanctions, financial crime and money laundering procedures by working closely with Compliance team in London
- Support the implementation of enhancements to the qualitative aspects of CAPL’s ERM framework
- Contribute to appropriate risk management information to facilitate a clear understanding of all significant (financial and non-financial) risks to the achievement of CAPL’s business objectives
- Support the development of a robust process for actively monitoring and reporting CAPL’s risk profile against CAPL’s risk appetite by working closely with the Risk Management team in London

**Skills and Experience**:

- Prior experience of developing and delivering a compliance plan and monitoring programme
- Able to analyse compliance requirements and embed them into business processes
- Ability to build relationships to drive and implement change
- Proven track record in building strong and constructive relationships with colleagues
- Strong analytical and qualitative risk management skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience within the Lloyd’s &/or international insurance industry an advantage
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Problem solving and analytical skills
- Team player with the ability to work independently

**Salary**: $90,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
