Asia Head of Markets

**Key Responsibilities**:
The Asia Head of Markets will help develop and implement regional and global product delivery strategies to a broad client franchise across the region and will bring a cross product perspective to client solutions. Some of the key responsibilities include business optimization and growth, new initiatives, product expansion, target market initiatives, sales penetration, cross sell, coordination of decisions and driving project management to ensure shorter time to delivery and to market and optimal alignment and cross product client solutions intra and inter countries. The Asia Head of Markets is also responsible for managing and leading senior level regulatory relationships across the region and creating a strong risk management discipline and culture.
**Leading and implementing Regional business strategy**:
- Drive the implementation of the global strategy across the multiple product lines within the regional to optimize revenue growth and capital usage, expand market share, deepen customer relations and broaden product delivery in line with organizations objectives.
- Define and implement a client centric strategy for the target market in the Region.
- Achieve ambitious goals and growth in market and wallet share from the client franchise.
- Jointly responsible for Markets revenue, expense and metrics targets for the Region.
- Drive operational and technology strategies needed to support the business growth and optimization.
- Maximize organizational execution of key initiatives and business review processes
- Ensure thorough and effective oversight of the Market’s businesses’ risk exposures to the region including cross border, price, liquidity and credit risks.
- Deepen and strengthen key client relationships in the region
**Leading strong governance and controls**:
- Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance, etc. in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure.
- Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics.
- Ensure close partnership with Compliance and Governance to lead productive dialogue with key regulators.
- Provide thought leadership and market implementation support in aid of prudent balance sheet, capital and liquidity management for the franchise.
- Ensure partnership with Finance to deliver the annual financial planning / budgeting process and ensure clarity and transparency around financial results.
- Closely monitor regulatory developments and swiftly develop or adapt products, services and processes as regulations evolve.
- Manage senior external interfaces with Regulators, media and industry groups for the benefit of Citi and its clients.
**Human Capital Management**:
- Lead the regional Markets people strategy including talent reviews for critical roles
- Provide appropriate stretch goals and timely reviews and ensure high performance of Sales, Risk Taking and Support personnel.
- Ensure close collaboration with HR partners around hiring, graduate and campus recruitment and training, diversity strategy and talent development and growth.
- Ensure cross product oversight and governance of headcount, hiring and workforce planning.
- Provide regional direction and oversight of compensation, promotion, junior talent pipeline, internal mobility, talent reviews and succession planning, and overall training initiatives and other related processes and programs.
**Experience, skills and capabilities**:
- In depth experience of Markets products, clients and risk management
- Successful leadership of a geographically diverse and multi-product business with broad people management experience.
- Successful track record of leading and creating momentum and a collective agenda across multiple products
- Likely to have an MBA or equivalent
- Exceptional intellectual grasp of the industry and with the ability to anticipate and lead the organizational response to future changes
- Strategic thinker with ability to translate vision into executable plans
- Excellent leadership skills and intellectual capability to bring together a broad range of Markets products
- Credibility and gravitas to lead, motivate and influence a diverse population across geographies, products and matrixed reporting lines
- Superior interpretive and problem solving skills; pragmatic approach to ensure limited resources are directed appropriately
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with ability to influence and create alignment at senior levels across multiple products, clients, geographies and competing priorities
