Our client is a leading financial institution with a diversified portfolio of lending and investment products. As part of their risk leadership team, they are seeking an experienced and strategic **Credit Risk Director**to strengthen credit policies, enhance portfolio oversight, and support sustainable business growth. The Credit Risk Director will lead the development and execution of credit risk management strategies across all business lines. The role includes oversight of credit risk governance, risk appetite setting, portfolio analysis, credit evaluation, and regulatory compliance.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Define and implement credit risk frameworks, policies, and procedures in line with business strategy and regulatory requirements
- Oversee credit risk assessments for corporate, SME, and/or consumer lending portfolios
- Review and approve high-value credit proposals and provide expert input on deal structuring
- Monitor portfolio performance and conduct stress testing, early warning analysis, and risk reporting
- Collaborate with business units to balance risk and growth, advising on new product launches and underwriting standards
- Ensure compliance with internal risk appetite, capital adequacy guidelines, and regulatory mandates
- Liaise with regulators, auditors, and rating agencies on credit risk-related matters
- Lead and mentor a team of credit risk professionals; build succession pipelines and strong team capabilitySupport credit risk analytics, scorecard development, and automation initiatives

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or related field
- At least 15 years of experience in credit risk management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role
- In-depth knowledge of credit risk frameworks, Basel regulations, IFRS 9, and risk-adjusted return methodologies
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with experience handling complex credit assessments
- Proven track record in managing credit risk across multiple asset classes (corporate, SME, or retail)
- Experience working with regulators and internal/external auditors
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skillsProficiency in risk analytics tools and platforms is a plus
