Role Overview and Comprehensive Responsibilities:
As the Program Coordinator of the School of Music, you will support the strategic

oversight and operational management of the Music program, aligning

educational practices with the college & strategic goals. This role emphasizes

leadership in curriculum development, faculty management, and fostering

student success. The Program Coordinator oversees operational management,

budget planning, semester planning, and maintains ongoing communication

with academic staff and students.

Operational Management and Program Coordination:
Efficiently manage day-to-day operations of music programs, ensuring

smooth delivery and rapid problem-solving.

Develop and closely monitor program budgets, demonstrating agility in

resource allocation and cost optimization.

Lead semester planning with a focus on strategic academic staff

deployment and timely assignment distribution.

Conduct thorough, timely reviews of lesson plans and assessment briefs to

maintain high quality and consistency standards.

Leverage expertise in curriculum design, pedagogy, and assessment to

continuously enhance program delivery.

Spearhead the development and implementation of a contemporary,

diverse music curriculum that adheres to accreditation standards.

Collaborate proactively with the Dean and Academic Staff to integrate

cutting-edge teaching methods and drive program improvements.

Academic Staff and Student Engagement:
Foster open, regular communication channels with academic staff,

providing timely support and mentorship.

Actively engage with students, swiftly addressing concerns and cultivating

a supportive, inclusive learning environment.

Efficiently coordinate and oversee audition processes, ensuring a fair and

comprehensive evaluation of prospective students.

Design and implement robust assessment strategies, guaranteeing fair

and accurate evaluation of student performance.

Champion a learning environment that celebrates diverse backgrounds

and perspectives, adapting to the evolving needs of a multicultural student

body.

Program Administration and Meetings:
Represent the music programs effectively in college-wide discussions,

contributing valuable insights and advocating for program needs.

Organize and lead efficient assessment moderation meetings to ensure

consistent, fair grading standards.

Implement a structured feedback system to gather and analyze input from

students and staff, driving continuous program improvement.

Take a leading role in marketing and liaison activities, effectively promoting

the program at Open Days and stakeholder events.

Curriculum Support and Implementation:
Drive the implementation of the music curriculum, ensuring strict

alignment with accreditation standards and industry needs.

Champion the integration of innovative teaching methods and industry

best practices in program delivery.

Lead the development of course content that addresses the diverse needs

of the student body and reflects current industry trends.

Integrate language learning opportunities within the curriculum, focusing

Community Engagement and Industry Relations:
Proactively build and maintain strong connections with music industry

stakeholders, creating valuable opportunities for students.

Serve as an articulate and enthusiastic ambassador for the School of Music

at college-wide events and community outreach programs.

Professional Development and Collaboration:
Actively pursue and encourage professional development opportunities to

stay at the forefront of music education trends.

Foster a collaborative environment, working closely with the Program Head

and faculty members on program-related initiatives.

Ensure curriculum continuity and consistency through effective

coordination with full-time faculty.

Actively participate in and contribute to department meetings, school-wide

training events, and relevant workshops.

Required Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Background: Bachelor degree in Music, Music Education, or a

closely related field.

Experience in Music Education:
Proven track record in teaching and managing aspects of a music

program, including student and curriculum management.

Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary pedagogical practices in music

education.

Leadership Skills:
Proven ability to inspire and motivate a team of educators.

Track record of successfully implementing faculty development initiatives.

Experience in fostering a positive, collaborative work environment.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a warm and

approachable demeanor.

Demonstrated ability to build rapport with diverse groups, including

students, faculty, and external stakeholders.

Experience in conflict resolution and handling sensitive conversations with

tact and empathy.

Fluency in English and Mandarin, reflecting the linguistic diversity of our
