**Role Title**:Regional Head, Asia
**Role location**: Singapore Based

**How will I help?**
As the Regional Head, Asia, you will be responsible for leading Westpac Asia, including the development and execution of strategic initiatives across the region and overseeing overall business performance. You will be responsible for Westpac’s operations in Singapore, Beijing and Shanghai and have accountability as Chief Executive of Westpac Singapore branch. Westpac Singapore has approximately 180 employees across our corporate and institutional, financial markets, global transactional services and operations function and associated support functions.

You will represent Westpac through senior engagement with customers, government, regulators, and industry bodies. You will be the senior responsible person and point of contact for local regulators and ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.

You will be the point of contact for employees, internal stakeholders, and clients, while aligning with relevant lines of business and/or function strategies, policies, and processes.

You will also:

- Drive and promote a high-performance culture that embodies our organisational values of HELPS, and enables a diverse workforce to reach its full potential
- Be highly responsive and innovative to client needs and proactively driving new opportunities, in alignment with relevant lines of business strategies
- Facilitate a strong, embedded risk culture and decision making that supports the delivery of WIB’s risk management priorities
- Oversee and implement appropriate policies, systems, procedures and controls to ensure the effective management and governance of the Singapore branch and safe exit of Beijing and Shanghai branches
- Attract and retain high quality talent, including creating pathways for talent within the branch and between global centres

**What do I need?**
You will have extensive understanding of Institutional banking and Financial Markets, including industry compliance and regulatory risk. You will be comfortable building and maintaining strong and sustainable relationships with regulators, clients, and colleagues across all levels. You will have experience formulating and operationalising business strategy as well as leading a large team.
